Wuque Studios WS Silent Tactile Keyboard Switch Review

Wuque Studios recently launched their silent tactile switches at a great price. In this article, I explore some things that make this silent switch unique.

The WS Silent Tactile is one of Wuque Studios’ newest switches and with a low price of only $.42, they definitely have a lot to offer.

The WS Silent Tactile features a Nylon top and bottom housing with a pom stem. It also has a 15mm single-stage spring with a total travel distance of 3.50 ± 0.3mm and a bottom-out force of 63.5g. These are also 5-pin so you could use these on a plateless board if you’d like as well.

On paper, these don’t really sound that unique, but what makes them stand out from the crowd of other silent switches is that they come lubed from the factory. The lube job on these switches is great and I noticed zero differences in terms of some being over-lubed or under-lubed. The biggest gripe I had about the popular Silent Boba u4s is that in their stock form, they had a lot of spring ping and ticking as well. These switches have neither of those problems and the tactile bump is on the medium side so they are quite comparable to Boba u4s just cheaper, and in my opinion, better due to their great stock performance. Linked below is a sound test so you guys can get an idea of how quiet they are.

These switches are great for any office environment or just in any area where you need to stay on the quiet side and not annoy everyone around you. I mainly used them to type notes during my college classes, and from what I could tell, nobody really minded due to them being so quiet.

Sometimes silent switches can be on the mushier side of things due to the dampeners they have inside that make them quiet, but that is not the case with these. I never once found myself thinking that they didn’t feel as snappy as I would want them to be, and just found myself enjoying the typing experience they provide.

Overall, the Wuque Studios WS Silent Tactile is my go-to silent switch that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. They are quite affordable at only $0.42 a switch plus you don’t need to lube them. They are also not too heavy and feature a nice weight of 63.5g. The tactile bump is also not super harsh either with only being at around a medium tactility, but if you don’t like tactile switches, they also offer this switch in a linear variant for you to enjoy!
